A message from Attic Rahman, the Conservative Party candidate for the Mayor of Newham

I am a father, a son, a brother, and a solicitor by profession. I have lived in Newham for over 20 years with my family, and believe in standing with the community, for the community. Whether its supporting our independent shops, building more affordable homes for local families or a fair deal for motorists and non-motorists. We need a new social contract with residents’, with a fresh approach to take our Newham community forward.
We have listened to residents’ concerns and set out our shared priorities overleaf. If you agree with them, please vote for them.
Our council tax increases every year and yet the same old issues remain with the same old Labour run Council. Newham has been run as a one-party borough for decades. It is the decisions they have taken that are holding Newham back – with no real scrutiny, and no real opposition during the decision-making processes.
Thursday 5th May 2022 is polling day. This is your chance to elect your councillors, and Mayor, for the next four years. I hope that you will vote Conservative on Thursday 5th May 2022 and help bring real change and accountability to Newham Council.
The Conservative teams in Newham have been meeting voters and listening to their concerns. We have heard a lot about what can be improved in Newham. We need your vote to help tackle the issues that affect you every day. For real change in Newham, we ask you to vote Conservative on Thursday 5th May 2022.
Even though you may not have considered voting Conservative before, by lending us your support, together, we can ensure Newham has an executive Mayor and a team with the ideas and energy to deliver the positive changes Newham needs. Only with your support can we achieve these things. We need your votes to make a difference.
“It is time for a new social settlement between the Council and the residents’ of Newham. A hand-up, not a hand-out. A council that is on your side, irrespective of your background, ability, or wealth. A council that wants you to have a share in the success of your borough and make this the best place to live, work and stay. Working together with you, Conservatives will deliver on our shared priorities for Newham.”
